Pope Leo's message for Divine Mercy Sunday, is a very practical invitation to embrace God's powerful love for us all.... "Jesus has this message for us: mercy. I think - and I say it with humility - that this is the Lord's most powerful message: mercy .... It is not easy to entrust oneself to God's mercy, because it is an abyss beyond our comprehension. But we must! "Oh Father, if you knew my life, you would not say that to me!" "Why, what have you done?" "Oh, I am a great sinner!" "All the better! Go to Jesus: he likes you to tell him these things!" He forgets, he has a very special capacity for forgetting. He forgets, he kisses you, he embraces you and he simply says to you: "Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). That is the only advice he gives you. After a month, if you are in the same situation .... Let us go back to the Lord. The Lord never tires of forgiving: never! It is we who tire of asking his forgiveness. Let us ask for the grace not to tire of asking forgiveness, because he never tires of forgiving. Let us ask for this grace" Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.

Divine Mercy Sunday
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
Pope John Paul II gave to the Sunday after easter the name Divine Mercy Sunday, since on it culminates the novena of the Divine Mercy, based on the revelations made to Saint Faustina Kowalska. The Divine Mercy, a devotion with which many of us are familiar, directs our attention to the mystery of God's mercy. The image of the Divine Mercy shows the Risen Christ as he might have been experienced by the apostles on the ‘eighth day of the week', when Thomas was present, he who before had doubted. The Lord asks him to put his hands in his side and in the wounds of his hands that he might believe that he who had been truly crucified, had died and was buried was also truly standing before him. Blood and water had flown from the pierced side of Jesus, always understood by the Church to refer to Baptism and the Eucharist as the foundational sacraments of life in Christ. The Lord Jesus would breath the Spirit on the Apostles and command them to baptise all nations. As on the eighth day, they would gather to mark the Lord's resurrection, to be gathered with the community of believers and to be fed by word and sacrament. If we give the matter some reflection, we will realise that we would much rather encounter Christ risen without the wounds of the crucifixion, relieved in some way from the bounds of humanity with its weakness and imperfection and the danger of being made captive to the cruelties of others. But Christ appears with his wounds, transformed into healing wells of his love and mercy for us. We cannot encounter Christ truly, we cannot really know God except in how he chooses to revel his true nature to us, namely by wounds glistening with the light of the resurrection, by love which has truly given itself to the ultimate and is in turn life giving beyond our understanding. There is truly such a thing as mercy, as forgiveness, as healing and reconciliation. We are capable of resurrection. Even the body one day will rise from the dead. And so, much as it is hard to come to Christ with sin and weakness, with limitation and struggle, the heart revealed on the cross and the true wounds of the risen Christ are the only way by which we can really know God, and really know ourselves. It is the cross that opens the door of mercy; it is the wounds that allow the light of grace to shine through; it is the open side that becomes the font of new life.
The Sisters of Merciful Jesus invite you to ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT AT THE HOUR OF MERCY 3 pm in St. Eunan's Cathedral this afternoon, Sunday 12th April (Feast of the Divine Mercy). Refreshments will follow in the Divine Mercy Centre.

The disciples in today's Gospel must have been so excited to tell Thomas their news: 'We have seen the Lord'. Sometimes, when we try to share something of our faith experience with others, we can meet similar responses – doubting, cynicism – we can even be made fun of. The Risen Jesus bears the wounds of his suffering and even invites Thomas to touch them, to get in touch with the reality of his suffering. We might recall times when we have been overwhelmed by pain but looking back on those times we can see that they sometimes brought us to a different place, to new life. Perhaps today recall those times of 'wounded-ness' – and hear Jesus's 'Peace be with you', the promise that he is with you. The word 'Peace' (Shalom) is more than a wish for a good evening or peaceful day. It expresses the desire that the person receiving the blessing might be whole in body, mind and spirit. The Risen Jesus brings a peace that is life-giving. The disciples were locked away, afraid, closed off from the world. When Jesus is present with them, their hearts are opened again, they rejoice. The Risen Jesus in today's Gospel moves the disciples from total fear and despair to 'rejoicing'. The same Risen Jesus is active in all our lives and in the world around us.
'Life will always prevail, through all the layers of death in which we try to contain it.'

Prayers of the Angel
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You! I ask pardon of You for all those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You!"
"Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners."

Church Gate Collections
While we acknowledge the hard work done by these charities and the time and effort involved, so called “church gate” collections are entirely outside the jurisdiction and responsibility of the Parish of Inver.
Such collections are sanctioned by permit by An Garda Síochána as “street collections”. The permission of the Parish Priest is not required as they take place on public property.
This permit expressly forbids such collections from taking place on parish property. No aspect of such collections can take place on Church grounds. The grounds on the 4 churches are clearly marked by walls and pillars.
The Charities Act 2009 specifies that permitted collections must take place in a ‘public place’. A ‘public place’, is defined as ‘any place to which the public have access whether as of by right or by permission and whether subject to or free of charge’ but does not include a Church or building used for public worship or the grounds of a Church or of such building.
The Parish of Inver strongly encourages anyone with concerns or complaints about the organisation and conduct of so-called “Church Gate Collections” to contact An Garda Síochána.

Tógadh €1,370 an tseachtain s'chuaigh thart. Buíochas don phobal.
Sliocht as Gníomhartha na nAspal. 2:42-47.
Mhair na bráithre seasmhach i dteagasc na n-Aspal, i gcumann an bhriseadh aráin agus in urnaithe.
Bhí mórán iontas agus míorúiltí á ndéanamh fosta ag na hAspail i larúsailéim agus bhí eagla mhór ar an uile dhuine. An méid a chreid, bhíodh siad i bhfochair a chéile agus bhíodh gach uile ní i gcomhar acu. Dhíoladh siad a maoin, agus a gcuid den saol, agus rannadh siad ar gach duine de réir mar a bhíodh sé i riachtanas. Ag fanacht gach lá ar aon toil amháin sa teampall agus ag briseadh aráin ó theach go teach chaitheadh siad a gcuid bia faoi áthas agus faoi shimplíocht chroí, ag moladh Dé agus meas an phobail orthu. Mhéadaigh an Tiarna i gceann a chéile gach lá an méid a bhí le slánú.
Briathar an Tiarna. FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Sliocht as céad litir Naomh Peadar. 1:3-9.
Moladh le Dia, Athair ár dTiarna Íosa Críost. Is dá mhórthrócaire a athghineadh sinne trí aiséirí Íosa Críost ó mhairbh, ionas go mbeadh muinín beo againn as an oidhreacht atá buan gan smál agus atá á taisceadh ar neamh daoibhse; atá faoi choinirce Dé na bhfeart fríd an gcreideamh, go dtí go bhfoilseofar i ndeireadh aimsire an slánú atá i ndán daoibh. Is cúis lúcháire agaibh é sin; siúd is go bhfuil oraibh cruatain éagsúla a fhulaingt ar feadh tréimhse bige, ionas go dtástalfar fírinneacht bhur gcreidimh - is luachmhaire an creideamh sin ná ór so-chaite ainneoin a thástála le tine - agus is é a bheidh ina údar molta agus glóire agus onóra agaibh an lá a thaispeánfar Íosa Críost. Thug sibh grá dósan cé nach bhfaca sibh é. Ní fheiceann sibh anois féin é, ach creideann sibh ann, le hardáthas dolabhartha. Gheobhaidh sibh slánú bhur n-anamacha mar thoradh ar bhur gcreideamh.
Briathar an Tiarna. FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
"Dé bhrí go bhfaca tú mé, a Thomáis, chreid tú." a deir an Tiarna.
"Is méanar dóibh seo nach bhfaca agus a chreid.” Alleluia!
Sliocht as an Soiscéal naofa de réir Naomh Eoin. 20:19-31.
Tráthnóna an lae sin, an chéad lá den tseachtain, nuair a bhí na doirse druidte ar an áit a raibh na
deisceabail, le heagla roimh na Giúdaigh, tháinig Íosa chucu, sheas sé ina measc agus dúirt leo: “Síocháin daoibh!” Nuair a bhí an focal sin ráite thaispeáin sé daofa a lámha agus a thaobh. Bhí lúcháir ar na deisceabail nuair a chonaic siad an Tiarna. Labhair Íosa leo arís agus dúirt: “Mar a chuir an tAthair mise uaidh, táimse do bhur gcur-sa.” Nuair a bhí sin ráite aige, shéid sé a anáil orthu agus dúirt: “Glacaigí an Spiorad Naomh. Na daoine a maithfidh sibh a bpeacaí dóibh, beidh siad maite dóibh; na daoine a gcoinneoidh sibh a bpeacai, beidh a bpeacaí coinnithe.”Ní raibh Tomás, duine den dáréag, ar a dtugtaí Didimus, ina gcuideachta nuair a tháinig Íosa. D’inis na deisceabail eile dó: “Chonaic muid an Tiarna.” Ach dúirt seisean leo: “Muna bhfeice mé lorg na dtáirní ina lámha agus muna gcuirim mo mhéar isteach san áit a ndeachaigh na táirní, agus mo lámh isteach ina thaobh, ní chreidfidh mé.” Ocht lá ina dhiadh sin bhí na deisceabail sa teach arís, agus Tomás leo. Bhí na doirse druidte, ach tháinig Íosa, sheas sé ina measc agus dúirt: “Síocháin daoibh!” Ansin dúirt sé le Tomás: “Sín amach do mhéar agus seo duit mo lámha; cuir amach do lámh agus cuir isteach i mo thaobh í; ná bí michreidmheach, ach creidmheach.” D’fhreagair Tomás: “Mo Thiarna agus mo Dhia.” Dúirt Íosa leis: “De bhrí go bhfaca tú mé, a Thomáis, chreid tú. Is beannaithe iad sin nach bhfaca agus a chreid.” Is iomaí sin comhartha eile a rinne Íosa i láthair a dheisceabal nach bhfuil scríofa sa leabhar seo. Ach tá an méid seo scríofa ionas go gcreide sibh gurbh é Íosa an Críost, Mac Dé, agus trí bhur gcreideamh go mbeadh beatha agaibh ina ainm.
Soiscéal an Tiarna. FR. Moladh duit, a Chríost.

Divine Mercy Sunday
The message of The Divine Mercy is simple; It is that God loves us - all of us.
And, He wants us to recognise that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy.
The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC:
A - Ask for His Mercy.
God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.
B - Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.
C - Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that all the graces of His mercy can only be received by our trust. The more we open the door of our hearts and lives to Him with trust, the more we can receive.

Thought for the Day
In whatever state a soul may be, it ought to pray. A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose its beauty; a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it; a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again; a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it might rise again. There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer. - St. Faustina Kowalska (Diary, 146)

Easter Thanks from Fr. Colm
During Holy Week, we celebrated the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, entrusting Kevin Mc Clafferty to the eternal love of the Risen Christ on Easter Sunday.
On Easter Sunday Pope Leo XIV urged world leaders to lay down their weapons, to drop the desire to dominate others and to choose dialogue over force. He had warned on Palm Sunday that God rejects the prayers of those who wage war. We pray during this Easter Season that the shadows of human conflict will give way to the light of the Risen Christ, whose first word was 'Peace'.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, helped with and participated in the liturgies of Lent & Holy Week, calling us to renew our faith in God's love for us and in God's faith in us: Palm Sunday, Tuesday's Service of Reconciliation, the Lord's Supper on Thursday, the simplicity and starkness of the Good Friday liturgies, and the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses, as darkness gives way to light, proclaiming the power of love in overcoming the powers of darkness, even the power of death itself.
Christ is Risen, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
Resurrection image
Thanks to the Ministers of the Word & Eucharist, collectors, altar servers, gift bearers, cross bearer and all who helped with the decoration of the church, especially the Easter Garden team.
Thanks to Bríd Murphy for the wonderful outdoor Easter Garden. James Gavigan looked after the palms and the Easter Light with his usual gracefulness. Special thanks to the Parish Senior Choir who excelled, making a huge effort throughout Lent, culminating in the excellence of Holy Week. Our thanks to musicians Maeve McGowan, Miriam Curran, Iuliia Vakhlamova and Frank Urquhart. Special thanks to Ann O'Donnell who coordinated the Choir and so many other tasks.
The First Communion children and others took part so enthusiastically in their celebrations on Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday. The Junior Choir, under Ann's direction with Mai Hegarty, accompanied by Sara and Janet greatly enhancing their celebrations, with Lauren Hegarty, Kate Oria Johnston and Colin Boyle doing solo parts. Sincere thanks to the Parents' First Communion Group for their help with the practices, celebrations and the imaginative Lent & Easter displays. The Liturgy of the Word for Children every fortnight continues to go from strength to strength under the wise guidance of Stephanie McHugh, Tracey Meehan & Emma O'Keeney.
Thanks to Maureen Cunningham who looks after the candles throughout he year. Ann O'Donnell, Parish Secretary, coordinated everything without fear or fuss, while Patricia O'Boyle, sacristan, attended to many tasks in her own quiet way, even when not present! Thanks to Johnny Paul for all his help.
We appreciate the ongoing dedication of those who open and close the Church morning and evening and to all the money counters for their dedication to their weekly mission. Thanks to Killybegs Community Project for looking after the grounds and the interior of the church. Thanks to Fr John Gallagher, Fr Charlie Byrne & Fr Charlie Deeney for all their help.
May the Love of the Risen Christ continue to sow seeds of hope, peace and joy. Alleluia! Alleluia!
Entrance Hymn: Seek Ye First
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God,
and his righteousness,
And all these things shall be added unto you:
allelu, alleluia
Chorus: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, allelu, alleluia
Ask and it shall be given unto you,
seek and ye shall find;
knock and it shall be opened unto you: allelu, alleluia
We do not live by bread alone but by ev'ry word
that comes forth from the mouth of God:
allelu, alleluia
(Chorus)
Entrance Hymn: This is the Day
This is the day (x2), that the Lord has made (x2)
We will rejoice (x2) and be glad in it (x2)
This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day (x2), that the Lord has made.
This is the day (x2), when he rose again (x2)
We will rejoice (x2) and be glad in it (x2)
This is the day, when he rose again
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day (x2), when he rose again.

WHY SUNDAY MATTERS:
The Mass is not just a ritual; it is the source and summit of our faith. It is where we encounter Christ in His living presence, and it is through the Eucharist that we are strengthened to live as true disciples. Attending Mass on Sundays is not just an obligation; it is a profound privilege and a chance to experience God's love in a deeply personal way. As we come to this sacred celebration let us do so with hearts full of gratitude for the precious gift of Christ's presence among us.
(ICBC 2025).
Jesus with rays of light
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
(Repeat three times)
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!
Our Father...
Hail Mary....
The Apostles' Creed....
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (10)
Repeat for the remaining decades
Saying the "Eternal Father" on the "Our Father" bead and then 10 "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion" on the following "Hail Mary" beads.
Conclude with
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (repeat 3 times)
Amen.
